Amazing Iceland - Golden circle & Diamond circle 8 Days.

“The land of Fire and Ice” – Iceland is a country of extreme contrasts with some of the largest glaciers in Europe and some of the most active volcanoes. Iceland´s midnight sun never sets during the summer, while during winter you might only see the daylight for a few hours. This contrasted country is surrounded by beautiful mountains and amazing nature of glaciers, icebergs, geysers, volcanic islands, birds, beaches, whales and much more. Every year, there are an increasing number of tourists visiting from all over the world to experience the wonders of the unique nature in Iceland. 

Day 1. Reykjavik – Blue Lagoon

Arrival in Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. You will be transferred by your driver to Iceland’s best-known attraction the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The Blue Lagoon is surrounded by fantastic volcanic landscapes and blue milky water. Here you will enjoy a rejuvenating spa in the geothermal hot spring and mineral-rich waters in a lava field. Furthermore, you will enjoy a comfort package which includes a towel, a drink and silica mud mask. The rest of the day, you will have relaxing times in the Blue Lagoon. 

Day 2. Reykjavik – Golden circle tour

This day starts with a Golden Circle tour. It is one of the most popular Iceland tours and allows you to experience Iceland’s most iconic sights, such as geyser geothermal area, the waterfall Gullfoss, and the UNESCO site Þingvellir National Park. Golden Circle tour combines history, culture and incredible Icelandic nature to make your day unforgettable. The geyser geothermal area is located in the southwest of Iceland and contains the geysers Geyir, The Great Geysir and Strokkur. Though Geysir has been mostly dormant for many years, Strokkur continues to shoot up a column of water up to 30 meters into the air every 5–10 minutes. Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. This three-step amazing waterfall is a part of the glacial river Hvítá and falls into a 62-meter-deep canyon. The UNESCO World Heritage Site Þingvellir National Park has an outstanding significance both geologically and historically speaking. It is the location of the oldest extant parliament in the world and also it is located at the fault line of North American and European tectonic plate that pull the country apart by 2-3 centimeters per year.

Day 3. Selfoss - Vik – Jokulsalon

Today, we will drive along Iceland’s south coast. Here you will first experience the iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls and then continue to explore Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, the dramatic Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations.   After lunch in Vik, you will head to the the Eldhraun lava fields and incredible Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon and continue to visit Europe´s biggest glacier, Jökulsárlón Glacier. Here you will have an amazing experience with a Jökulsárlón glacier Lagoon boat trip to sail between the icebergs of the glacier. Afterwards you can have a photo stop by the Diamond Beach, where you will see chunks of ice sparkling on the black volcanic sands.

Day 4. East Fjords – Egilstadir

Starts with a beautiful journey along the Eastfjords, you will pass tranquil fishing villages and sweeping coastal landscapes. The east fjords are most famous for its amazing view over the ring road, though there are much more to discover – narrow fjords, steep cliffs, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and Iceland’s iconic bird “Puffins” as well as the wonderful coastline and small town Seyðisfjörður with its colorful streets. Continue and visit the magnificent Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss before you reach at Egilsstaðir area. 

Day 5. Egilstadir – Mývatan - Dettifoss – Husavik

Today begins the Diamond Circle tour of Northern Iceland. The first stop is “Mývatan” which is one of the biggest lakes in Iceland and located in the northeast. The group will have a rejuvenating experience in the alkaline bathing lagoon and enjoy the scenery that surrounds the Mývatn Nature Baths. After lunch, continue your journey to Ásbyrgi canyon with a short stop at Hafragilsfoss Waterfall and Dettifoss. waterfall, reputed as one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe. Transfer to the town Húsavík for dinner and accommodation.

Day 6 Husvik – Godafoss - Akureyri

Husvik is a town often considered as the Whale Watching Capital of Iceland and whales are sighted on over 95% of the days in summer. The group will join a 3-hours whale watching tour to see whales as well as dolphins and sea birds in the splendid nature of Skjálfandi bay.  Enjoy lunch in Husavik and move on to the last Diamond Circle stop at the Godafoss Waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. Next stop is at the capital of the North, Akureyri, where the group will have a city tour incl. a visit to the botanical garden, Akureyri Church, old town, Helgi the lean and the Thorunn Hyrna statue. 

Day 7. Reykjavik

Depart for Reykjavik city directly from the hotel. Arrival in Reykjavik, you will start to explore Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland. You will have a guided tour in Reykjavik – visit the capital city’s top attractions -Hallgrimskirkja church with its unique design inspired by basalt lava columns and the stunning Harpa concert hall and the conference center, the Pearlan, with its breathtaking 360-degree view over the beautiful city of Reykjavík, Bessastaðir- the official residence of the President of Iceland and much more. Stroll “Laugavegur” – the main shopping street, renowned for its boutiques, restaurants, and cozy cafés. Enjoy this wonderful capital city Reykjavik for the rest of day.  

Day 8. Reykjavik

Breakfast at the hotel.

You will be picked up by a private driver and transfer to Reykjavik airport and depart by flight according to your Itinerary.
