Authentic Faroe Islands 7 Days.

The Faroe Islands is a North Atlantic archipelago placed between Scotland, Norway and Iceland and is a constituent country of the Kingdom of Denmark – just like Greenland. The beautiful and unique landscape of the Faroe Islands was created by volcanic activity in the Ice Age.  The Faroe Islands are called Europe’s best kept secret and offer visitors a unique experience with its scenic landscapes – hills, cliffs, volcanoes, waterfalls, wild nature as well as a half millions of puffins and a great bird life and unique culture.

Day 1. Vagar - Gásadalur

Arrival at Vagar airport.

Vagar is one of the 18 islands in the archipelago of the most western of the large islands of the Faroe Islands. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your private driver and drive to Bøur where you can see the view of Drangarnir and Tindhólm. Continue to Gasadalur and see the beautiful and picturesque waterfall Múlafossur. Also enjoy lovely puffins and birds around this place. 

Day 2. Vestmanna, Saksun, Tjørnuvík

Today you will drive to Vestmanna via the underground tunnel to Streymoy, where you can join a boat trip to the Vestmanna bird cliffs, home to half a million puffins. Continue to Saksun village where you have one of the best views of picturesque village, old houses, white church surrounded by beautiful nature. Next, head to Tjornuvik, the northernmost settlement. Before you reach Tjornuvik, you will pass Fossa waterfall in two different plateaus. Arrival at Tjornuvik, here you will experience the rugged nature and houses lying by the end of the steep valley. 

Day 3. Klasvik - Kalsoy – Kallu Lighthouse

Today you will depart for Karlsoy which is known for its wild landscape and the iconic Kallur Lighthouse. This trip will give you one of the best trips in the Fareo Islands. When you visit Karlsoy, you will be able to admire the picturesque views of soaring peaks, dramatic sheer cliffs, wild nature, fantastic little villages, and the sea. Hiking to Kallu Lighthouse is an absolute highlight. After visiting Kalsoy, you will return with a boat to Klasvik – the same way as at arrival. 

Day 4. Kirkjubøur - Tórshavn

Depart for Kirkjubøur, the southernmost village on Streymoy which is well known as Faroe Island’s most important historical site. Here you will visit the ruins of Magnis Cathedral, dating back to 1300, and Saint Olav’s Church, from the 12th Century and continue to explore this settlement. Here the runestone from the Viking age has been found and today it is placed at the Fareo Islands Museum in Torshavn. Return to Torshavn, the capital of Fareo Islands. On your way to the capital, Tórshavn, you will have a stop at the villages of Dalur and Husavikand Toftir.

Day 5. Tórshavn

Tórshavn is a port and the capital of the Faroe Islands.  It is situated at the southern tip of Streymoy (Streym) and is the largest city of the Faroe Islands. Today, you will explore the capital, Tórshavn, with a charming old part of town “á Reyni “on the peninsulaTinganesHere you will find the red houses of  the Prime Minister’s office and other government administration  Houses in the á Reyni district areturf roofed and  this old part of the capital is very charming. Visit the popular vantage point “Skansin” with its light house an old fort nearby Torshavn city center. Stroll around the harbor, painted timber houses, old warehouses, and art galleries. You can also sit on a café and enjoy the splendid views of Nólsoy Island across the bay or watch the colorful fishing boats in the unique atmosphere. 

Day 6. Mykines

Take a trip to Tórshavn, the best place to experience puffins. Many tourists and birds love visit Mykines Island to see the rich bird life and hundreds of cute puffins nestled in burrows in the clifftops during the summer from May to August. There are more than 40 houses in Mykines village and only 11 residents. Most of the year helicopters is the most used way of transportation but in summer ferries are sailing twice per day with many tourists. Mykines is a truly amazing place with its unspoiled nature. You can hike around this Island and you will be immersed by its magnificent views.

Day 7. Vagár

You will be picked up by a private driver and transfer to Vagár airport and depart by flight according to your Itinerary.
